Set within the landscape and marked by both surface and underground workings, this mining complex preserves the imprint of a structured and multifaceted activity, also evidenced by the presence of spoil heaps and operational structures. Reliable records confirm significant activity during the 16th century, when resource exploitation followed already well-established organizational systems; however, certain indications suggest even earlier phases of use, possibly dating back to the Romanesque period. With galleries carved into the rock and spaces shaped by human effort, the site stands today as a layered place where different centuries overlap, telling a long story of interaction between communities and the subsoil.”
