Tower of Punta Baffe
The Circular Tower Between Sea and Watch
Like the more famous Punta Manara Tower, this structure stands out for its circular shape, simple yet extraordinarily functional. Its walls tell a story of vigilance and strategy: in the past, from this elevated point, watchful eyes scanned the sea for signals, ready to spot the approach of potential enemies.
A Node in a Network of Towers
This tower was not isolated; it was part of a larger network of coastal fortifications. Each tower was connected to the others through visual signals, smoke, or lanterns, creating a coordinated system capable of quickly alerting inland communities. Despite its small size, each tower played a crucial role in protecting the coastline and safeguarding nearby villages.
