Fieschi Count’s Palace in Cogorno
With roots dating back to the 13th century, the Palazzo Comitale dei Fieschi reigns majestically in front of the Basilica, silent guardian of history. Flanked on one side by the Roman Via Antica, this ancient building, although marked by the passage of time and various modifications, still retains its character as a noble residence, clearly distinguishing itself from the surrounding urban fabric.

Its structure, a squared block on a rectangular plan, sits skilfully along the slope of the hill, like a vigilant guardian. On the ground floor, the portico welcomes visitors with its sober elegance, while in the upper part, black and white bands decorate the facade, framing two large quadriform windows that overlook the churchyard. These windows, supported by marble columns and arches, are symbols of nobility and refinement.

It is on the western façade, facing the valley, that the palace reveals all its grandeur, emerging imposingly on three floors thanks to the difference in height of the land.
