Silent witness to centuries of devotion and faith, the Chapel of San Bartolomeo was founded in the mid-16th century, but it was in the early 17th century that the restoration and expansion gave it the appearance we know today.
With its welcoming porch and two small bell towers that stand out against the sky, the chapel announces its sacred presence in the heart of the community.
Crossing the threshold of the Chapel of San Bartolomeo, visitors find themselves faced with a spacious and almost square interior, characterized by barrel vaults that seem to embrace the faithful with affection. The walls are decorated with frescoes that tell stories of holiness and redemption. St. Michael, with his sword drawn, Our Lady of the Assumption surrounded by angels, and a holy Bishop radiating wisdom and compassion, are just some of the images that inspire and comfort visitors.
In the center of the apse stands the only Baroque style altar, a masterpiece of craftsmanship and devotion. The shaped frontal and the reliefs carved in white marble emerge gracefully on a red background, conveying a sense of sacredness and magnificence. This altar, with its elaborate decoration, is the spiritual centerpiece of the chapel, attracting the attention and devotion of anyone who approaches it
Along the side walls of the chapel, six slate paintings depict holy figures and guardian angels. St. Charles Borromeo, the Angel Raphael, the Young Tobias, St. Apollonia, a Praying Figure and St. Lucia are represented with meticulous details and vibrant colors.
