Located in the locality of Santa Giulia di Centaura, the chapel of San Michele represents one of the most evocative panoramic points of the entire Tigullio region, whose roots probably date back to the Lombard era.
Damaged on 22 May 1564 during an attack by Algerian Barbary corsairs during the siege of the city of Lavagna, the chapel was subsequently restored in 1649 by the will of the Genoese patrician Antonio Giustiniani, who entrusted it to the Jesuits.
Subsequently it came under the control of the Grimaldi families and others. Currently under renovation, it offers its charm and historical value.
Outside, a refreshment point managed by the “Pietre Parlanti” Association welcomes visitors for a break to fully enjoy. The chapel is easily accessible in a few minutes either on foot or by car, offering an unforgettable experience to anyone who decides to visit it.
